Still working on this. My local healthfood store owner gave me a tray of hydroponically grown wheatgrass(which tasted good) left as a sample by some guy who grows it just that way. He hasn't been back. It's rather, "Who was that masked man? . . . "

Sometimes people who tend to be arthritic cannot handle the taste of wheatgrass. People who tend to be arthritic need organic sodium. Barley is very high in organic sodium. Keeping the sodium --potassium in balance is the key. I would try barley grass juice. Although it is extremely bitter, I personally can handle drinking it much easier. It is best not to mix it with wheatgrass juice. I drink it, and chase with water with a little lemon with a pinch of salt. If you absolutely cannot stand the taste, try mixing it with bottled pineapple or apple juice.

There was a great new studied published by the Internet Journal of Alternative Medicine that shows wheatgrass juice does oxygenate our blood. Here is a link to the article if anyone is interested:

The second growth is about 40 percent as nutritious as the first growth. It never gets as tall.
I never use my second growth, I just compost the flat and begin with new seed and new soil each time. At some point in time, if you have a compost pile, the root system will have broken down and you can reuse it as soil. |

One of the most reliable sources of energy comes from the sun. The solar energy has been in use for quite long now. Sun’s energy has been nourishing the earth with its warmth and power since long. With the world reaching a dead end in its usage of diminishing fossil fuels, solar energy has emerged as a favorite option. Solar energy can be used in heating and generation of electricity.
Solar energy can be tapped in two ways: collecting its heat or converting its light into electricity. The latest technologies in tapping the solar energy are the PV or photovoltaic cells and the solar power plants. The Photovoltaic cells made up of silicon alloys, absorb the photons emitted from sun, which makes the silicon atoms to release the electrons from their orbit around the nucleus, which leads to electricity generation. The solar power plant uses mirrors to deflect the sunlight from a large area into a small space, like that of a pipe filled with a fluid. When the sunrays falls into pipe, it raises the temperature of the fluid, which is used to boil the water and make steam. This steam is then used to run the generator. In the recent times, the Solar Energy Investments have risen owing to its great advantages. |

Hi guys.
I'm new at this whole wheat grass thing but am super excited to start it up. Currently my room mate and I are growing two flats of wheat grass in our kitchen. After your first batch is ready and you do the cutting how many times will each batch "re-grow" (if at all). Also, how often do you have to change the soil in the bed? |
