I grow sprouts about every week in my kitchen.  They're great in soups, stews, stir-fry, egg foo yong, etc.  They're simple to grow fresh in only about 5 days with a jar and a sprouter lid.  Far better than the sprouts you get in the grocery store, or (yuk) out of a can.

I've tried radish and alfalfa sprouts, too, but those weren't nearly as good.  My luck at growing my own mung beans in the garden was thwarted when the deer discovered them.

I'm a organic gardener, and use no chemicals.  When Queen Anne's Lace comes up in the garden, some would say weeds, but I know better -- those are wild carrots!  I've been eating them for ~50 years.

I used to grow sprouts years back, and just started again. My first crop is almost ready. I am excited to be back "gardening" again. Maybe it sounds silly but there is not only the fact that the sprouts are so nutritional and taste great but there is also a satisfaction in watching something grow.

My first crop is a mixture of sprouts but I am looking forward to trying lots of different kinds.  Cheesy

Queen Anne's lace is wild carrots, wow!! Thanks. When should I start looking around? I'm going to find a pic of what to look for. We had wild garlic and strawberries growing, so the chances are good! Thanks again! Thanks also for telling me what I can do with the sprouts so they are not so plain.

Hello all,
I've tried the mung, but really like the radishes and the 3 and 5 mixed salad sprouts.  The flavor is fabulous.  I just started sprouting about three months ago, but have been gardening since I was a child.
I didn't realize that about the Queen's Lace.  I will let you know if that is what is growing in my back yard.
