I know people will probably be mad that I am a mushroom basher, but the reaction caused by mushrooms may seem medicinal at first, but  they are a fungi and cause changes in your blood that are not so healthy. If you choose this route, research the pros AND cons.

Fungi cover a wide spectrum of organisms from toxic molds and medicinal penicillin to culinary yeasts used in bakery products and brewing to culinary mushrooms and poisonous mushrooms, and also to mychorrhizal fungi used to fortify soils and make beneficial exchanges with trees and plants.

Making an over broad statement that fungi cause changes in the blood that are not so healthy is therefore non sequitur, meaningless without the data or evidence to back up such a broad statement. It's like inferring that sprouts are hazardous to your health because of one incidence of tainted alfalfa sprouts from years ago or that sushi is unhealthy because nori is a seaweed and seaweeds are related to poisonous algae. Fungi, like algae, are vital to the food chain but can contain some species that maybe hazardous. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water...
