How to grow Barleygrass question

Well since I am disabled and have arthritis along with spinal stenosis I guess I need to grow this as well. Just assumed it would be fattening since I thought it was used to make beer. (Ignorance is bliss?) If I buy the seeds, do I sprout & grow it just like my wheatgrass? Thanks for any guidance!

also, for your arthritis, and everything else,  look into making your own Kombucha Tea.
